THE PLAYERS Championship: Tiger favored after 36 holes

May 10, 2013 |
Tiger Woods fired a 5-under 67 for the second consecutive day to become the outright betting favorite at the TPC at Sawgrass after second- round play.

Woods is now 7/4 to win his second title at THE PLAYERS Championship and trails Sergio Garcia, who fired a 7-under 65 Friday to take a one-stroke advantage (-11) over Tiger at the top of the leaderboard after 36 holes.

Garcia didn’t miss a single fairway and putted for birdie on every hole on the back nine. But now the Spaniard will be paired with Woods on Saturday, which as history tell us could be bad news for him.

El Nino and Woods have been paired or grouped 19 times in 12 tournaments. Tiger is 12-3-4 in those matchups, including a 6-0 mark on the weekend. Woods also has won eight of the 12 tourneys the two were paired or grouped for at least one round.
