Doc Rivers will be the new head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers next season, a move that is shaking up the NBA futures odds.
The Clippers and Boston Celtics finally reached a deal Sunday that will bring Rivers to L.A. in exchange for a first-round draft pick in 2015.
Sportsbooks scrambled to adjust their futures odds after catching wind of the deal. The Clippers went from 15-1 to 10-1 at some books after the move while the Celtics moved from 40-1 to 60-1.
Rivers led the Celtics to a 41-40 record last season (36-42-3 against the spread) and will take over a team that is loaded with talent. Rivers was the Coach of the Year in 2000 and led the Celtics to a NBA Championship in 2008.
