The Confederations Cup is a tournament held every four years by the holders of each of the six FIFA confederations championships (UEFA, CONMEBOL, CONCACAF, CAF, AFC, OFC), plus the current World Cup Champ and the host nation.

So the 2013 version, held in Brazil and starting Saturday, will include the following:

Brazil (hosts)
Spain (UEFA/World Cup)
Japan (AFC)
Uruguay (CONMEBOL)
Tahiti (OFC)
Italy (UEFA - qualified as Euro 2012 runners up)
Nigeria (CAF)

Here is a look at each of the eight clubs participating in the event. Odds courtesy of Bet365:

Group A

Brazil (+140)

Why bet Brazil: Brazil is the tourney fave and won the last edition of the Cup back in 2009. They will field a side that features stars such as Neymar, Lucas, Hulk and Hernanes and will no doubt play with a style and flair that only the Brazilians can.

Italy (+700)

Why bet Italy: The Italians are a good look at +600 with the talent that is on the squad list. AC Milan attack force Mario Balotelli and Stephan El Shaarawy will spearhead a threatening squad moving forward. And with midfield-maestro Andrea Pirlo in the mix, anything is possible.

Mexico (+1,400)

Why bet Mexico: If you're looking for a solid longshot in the tournament, look no further than Mexico. The Mexicans boast experience, depth and one of the great poachers in the game in Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez of Manchester United.

Japan (+4000)

Why bet Japan: When the Japanese field a proper squad, they can compete with just about anybody. The midfield is ripe with playmakers such as Shinji Kagawa and Keisuke Honda, but they are thin up front.

Group B

Spain (+163)

Why bet Spain:
Well, Spain win everything, so there's that. The World Cup and Euro 2012 holders will bring Xavi, Iniesta, David Silva and the rest of the usual suspects and look to add to the trophy case.

Uruguay (+800)

Why bet Uruguay:
Love him or hate him, Luis Suarez is one of the most dynamic forwards in the world and you cannot deny his talent. But, if you don't follow Serie A, then perhaps you aren't too familiar with Edinson Cavani. These two score at will and make a dream pairing up front.

Nigeria (+3,300)

Why bet Nigeria: The Super Eagles breezed through the always competitive African Cup of Nations back in February and that could be a rallying point for them. They boast speed up front with Ahmed Musa and they are always a candidate to cause problems for opposing defenses.

Tahiti (+150,000)

Why bet Tahiti:
You are Tahitian.
