Here are four intriguing matches for bettors to take interest in on Day 5 of the Australian Open:

Nicolas Almagro (-225) vs. Jerzy Janowicz (+175)

Almagro is one of the best clay court players and has steadily gotten better on the hard court surface, while Janowicz is Poland's top male player and one of the rising stars in the sport. Janowicz had an epic John McEnroe-esque meltdown in his second round match, but came back to win from two sets down. Can Janowicz keep his focus and beat the resilient Almagro?

Marcos Baghdatis (+500) vs. David Ferrer (-800)

Ferrer is the top seed in this quarter of the draw but he’ll be in tough against Baghdatis, who seems to always play well at this major. These two met here in 2010 and Baghdatis won a great five-set match. Can he strike again and beat the tournament's top Spaniard?

Angelique Kerber (-225) vs. Madison Keys (+175)

Kerber was the breakout player of 2012, skyrocketing to a top-10 ranking. Keys has high expectations and is off to a great start in 2013. A victory over Kerber would be her signature win and really push her up the rankings. Kerber makes her opponents work for it, so it won't be easy for the American teenager.

Maria Sharapova (-450) vs. Venus Williams (+333)

This is a classic matchup between two of the best players of the last 10 years. Sharapova is red-hot, having not lost a game in her first two matches in Melbourne. Williams has also been excellent, not dropping more than three games in a set. Two great players both in fantastic form should make for a great match.
