Small win for books as Broncos fail to cover spread

Oct 14, 2013 |
The Denver Broncos have been the talk of the NFL since Peyton Manning and Co. crushed the Baltimore Ravens 49-27 in the opening game of the season.

This past week was no different.

The Broncos opened as much-publicized 28-point favorites for their Week 6 tilt versus the awful Jacksonville Jaguars with the number closing at -26.5.

Denver won the game straight up 35-19 but failed to cover that colossal spread as the offensively-inept Jaguars managed to keep the game reasonably close.

"It was a small win for the shop," Mike Perry, an oddsmaker with told Covers. "Sixty percent of the money was on the Broncos."
