Premier League transfer rumor odds

Jul 12, 2013 |
The soccer season never really stops because once domestic leagues are finished, it's time for the always exciting summer transfer window!

The transfer windows can be frustrating times for supporters because of the sheer volume of rumors and gossip that comes along with it.

But there is always money to be made for bettors in the windows. Various book across the web will host transfer odds or player specials on "Player X's next club."

We thought we'd focus in on the Barclay's Premier League and four players in particular who have become hot transfer targets since the end of the campaign. Odds courtesy of William Hill.

Wayne Rooney's Club on Sept. 3 2013

The internet freaked out with the news that Wayne Rooney was flying back to England following a hamstring injury while Manchester United were on tour of Asia. New Man United boss David Moyes was Rooney's manager in his Everton days and the two have a bit of tumultuous history so many expected Rooney's days with the Red Devils to be numbered. But amid rumors of interest from clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain, etc, Moyes maintains that Rooney isn't going anywhere.

Luis Suarez's club on Sept. 3 2013

I guess everyone sort of thought this saga was over and a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid was imminent. But, Arsenal swooped in and threw a wrench into things by making a significant bid for the fiery Uruguayan striker. Most feel his days at Liverpool are finished and he's left a slew of controversial incidents in his wake. Liverpool is demanding that Suarez hand in a transfer request before any move is made.

Christian Benteke's club on Sept. 3 2013

The Belgian star-in-waiting had a massive, breakthrough year for Aston Villa. While Villa is in a sort of rebuild process and fields a young side, Benteke is arguably the sole reason they avoided relegation. He finished fourth in goals scored with 19 and would be the kind of dream signing that fans of Tottenham Hotspur have been waiting for. With the David Villa rumors quashed with a move to Atletico Madrid and the frustrating Emmanuel Adebayor apparently headed to Turkey, Benteke to Spurs seems like the striker signing that the patient supporters at White Hart Lane have been waiting for.

Leighton Baines club on Sept. 3 2013

The sought-after Everton left back is believed to be following his old boss David Moyes to Old Trafford. The champions will need to address the position with captain Patrice Evra getting older and rumored to be considering a move to newly minted Ligue 1 side Monaco. Baines is next in line to be England's first-choice left back and would be the ideal replacement should Evra depart.
