New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony is expected to sit out tonight’s home game against the Houston Rockets.
Anthony is nursing a sprained left ankle and missed Saturday’s win over Cleveland. New York head coach Mike Woodson reportedly told the media Anthony would sit out versus the Rockets and the news quickly spread on Twitter.
Anthony was red hot before the injury and is averaging 27.8 points per game and garnering early MVP attention, helping the Knicks to an 18-5 SU start (14-9 ATS).
New York opened as big as -10.5 for Monday’s game but has dropped as low as -8.5 with news of Anthony’s absence.
Forward Chris Copeland started in Anthony’s place Saturday, scoring 11 points in more than 18 minutes.
The total for tonight’s game has moved from 210.5 to 212 points.
