U.S. Open action report: Books fearing Mickelson win

Jun 16, 2013 |
We check in with Aron Black, an oddsmaker with Bet365, about the flow of action coming in on the final round of the U.S. Open.

We don't want

Mickelson, Donald, Rose

All three have been very popular with many bettors, and that will continue through this round until somebody either falls off the pace or someone establishes a lead, which looks like it’s going to be quite hard to do given how the course is playing the last two rounds.

These three players have luckily been backed at lower odds for most of the tourney so far than what they were available at pre tourney, but all were steadily backed pre tourney as well.

We want

Schwartzel, Stricker, Mahan, Horschel

Although the above players are not friendless in the betting, they are our best runners going into the final round. It will be a day where we will be hoping one of these guys makes a run, or the named frontrunners fall off.

Its shaping up to be quite a final round, so I expect the action for in-play to be very steady throughout it.
