It has been reported that the Cincinnati Bengals will be featured on HBO's popular series Hard Knocks for the second time, reports ESPN.com.
Bettors should take note because during the preseason and the opening week of the regular season, teams featured in the behind-the-scenes program do not fare too well ATS (against the spread).
Hard Knocks teams are 56-56 SU and 53-56-3 ATS overall during the regular season, but just 10-17 SU and 9-18 ATS during the preseason when the cameras are there and only 2-5 ATS in Week 1 of the season.
The Miami Dolphins were the subject of the show last year and went 0-4 SU and ATS in the preseason and they lost and failed to cover in Week 1 falling to the Houston Texans 30-10 as a 13-point road underdog.
Here’s a look at the last seven Hard Knocks teams and their betting records:
2001 Baltimore Ravens: 10-6 SU, 8-7-1 ATS, 1-2 SU and ATS preseason
2002 Dallas Cowboys: 5-11 SU, 7-8-1 ATS, 3-1 SU and ATS preseason
