Wake suspends 4 key starters, no line move overnight

Oct 6, 2012 |
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons have suspended six players, including four starters for today's game at Maryland according to reports in The State and several other outlets.

The suspensions include linebacker and team leading tackler Mike Olson and the Deacs' second leading rusher and touchdown leader Deandre Martin. Cornerback Merrill Noel, safety Daniel Mack, guard Frank Souza and receiver Airyn Willis are the others, who will be eligible to return for Wake's next game against Virginia. Olson has 44 tackles this season and one sack while Martin has rushed for 279 yards leads the team with five touchdowns.

Oddsmakers have yet to make any adjustments to the line, as of early Saturday morning, where Maryland was holding steady as a 7-point favorite. The total also remained at 47.5 at most books. The line opened at Maryland -4 and moved to 5.5 and 6 on Monday. One pro capper Tweeted us to say sharps knew of the suspensions then.

Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. ET. Sixty-three percent of the Covers Consensus is on Marlyand, who is 2-2 straight up and against the spread this season. Wake is 3-2 and 2-3 ATS.
