Bad beat of the night: Allen's clutch 3-pointer foils under bettors

Jun 19, 2013 |
An NBA Finals classic turned into a betting nightmare for under bettors Tuesday night.

With the Spurs up 94-89 and 28 seconds to go, bettors who had under the 192 total were no doubt sitting on their hands. Much like the Spurs, victory for under bettors was seemingly within reach.

But then Ray Allen happened.

Allen, who has plied his trade hitting corner 3s for years, set up shop in his familiar confines as Chris Bosh grabbed an offensive rebound and fed him a pass.

With Tony Parker in his mug, Allen took one of his textbook jumpers and splashed the game-tying three pointer with 5.2 seconds on the clock.

95-95. A total of 190.

Parker took what can only be described as a prayer as regulation time expired and the over was inevitable.

An incredible game that will go down in NBA lore, but a crotch shot of a loss for under bettors.
