South Carolina betting favorite to win College World Series

The South Carolina Gamecocks are -140 favorites against the Arizona Wildcats (+100) in Game 1 of the College World Series Sunday.

The best-of-three series is taking place at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Nebraska. South Carolina, which is a -175 favorite to win the series, defeated Arkansas to advance to the championship while Arizona (+135 to win series) advanced after knocking off Florida State.

The Gamecocks are a +185 favorite to win the series in two straight games. They’re priced at +260 to win in three and the Wildcats are +280 to win the series in two or three games.

The total for Game 1 is set at 10.5 runs (under -150).

South Carolina is the two-time defending College World Series champion and can become the first program to win three straight titles since Southern Cal back in 1972. The Trojans went on to win five straight titles from 1970-74.

Arizona last won the College World Series back in 1986, the school’s third NCAA baseball championship.
