Where the action is: BCS Championship Game

Jan 7, 2013 |
We talk with Aron Black of Bet365 and Mike Perry of Sportsbook.ag, about the action coming in on tonight’s BCS Championship Game between Alabama and Notre Dame.

Bet365 – Alabama -10, 40.5

We have been holding at 10-flat for some time now, when many others are laying 9.5, or are up to 10.5 with plus-money on the -10.5. The money for ND has been steady from the start, as has Bama money, but recently more bettors are buying the closer we get to the game as we are now almost 2/1 ND spread money to Bama. We are also about 3/1 ND SU money to Bama. So, we have many who like the Irish to cover or win, and I think we have many more bettors who will come for Bama later. I think we are going to end up cheering for Bama to cover or at least win.

Sportsbook.ag – Alabama -9.5, 40.5

Perry is reporting that 60 percent of the money is on Notre Dame at +9.5. The Irish are also getting backed on the moneyline as a 13/5 underdog, while Alabama is a 5/16 favorite. Sportsbook.ag currently has the total at 40.5, with 55 percent of the action coming in on the under.

Dave Mason at Betonline is seeing a shift in action as game time gets closer back toward the Crimson Tide.
