The Brooklyn Nets are keeping NBA oddsmakers on their toes with rumors of a huge deal involving the Boston Celtics.
According to reports, Brooklyn and Boston have reached an agreement that would send Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry to the Nets. In anticipation of the blockbuster trade, oddsmakers at Sportsbook.com have dropped Brooklyn’s NBA title odds from +5,000 to +2,500.
In return for those three stars, the Celtics will receive three first-round picks (2014, 2016, and 2018) along with Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace, Tornike Shengelia, Reggie Evans and Keith Bogans. The trade is pending approval from Garnett, who will need to waive the no-trade clause in his contract.
If the deal goes through, Garnett, Pierce and Terry would join the Nets’ standout trio of Deron Williams, Brook Lopez and Joe Johnson.
Brooklyn finished 49-33 SU and 39-40-3 ATS this past season, good for fourth in the Eastern Conference, before losing to the Chicago Bulls in seven games in the first round of the playoffs.
