Monday's NBA playoff notes: Hinrich out for Bulls

Here's a look at some notes ahead of Monday's NBA playoff games to help you with your handicapping:

Hinrich out for Bulls

The Chicago Bulls will have to close out their series with the Brooklyn Nets without guard Kirk Hinrich, who is out for Game 5 on Monday with a bruised calf.

The Nets are 5.5-point favorites and the total is 180.5. The Bulls are 2-2 ATS (against the spread) in the series and the over/under is 2-2.

Hinrich is averaging 14.4 points, seven assists and three rebounds in Chicago's three straight victories in Game 2, 3 and 4.

Lin game-time decision for Houston, Garcia would start in his place

Houston Rockets guard Jeremy Lin did not practice on Monday and is a game-time decision for Game 4 on Monday against the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to Jason Friedman of

The Rockets are 1.5-point underdogs at home and the total is 206. Houston is down 3-0 in the series and is 1-2 ATS in the series. Each of the three games in the series have gone under.

Lin played only 18 minutes in Game 3 and had only two points and one assist. He's averaging 4.3 points, 2.7 assists and 2.3 rebounds in the series against the Thunder, below all of his season averages of 13.4 points, 6.1 assists and 3.0 rebounds.

Francisco Garcia will start in Lin's place if he is unable to play, according to Howard Chen of CSN Houston. 

Petro will start for Atlanta

Atlanta Hawks head coach Larry Drew says that center Johan Petro has arrived in Atlanta and will start Monday for the Hawks, according to the team's official Twitter account. 

The Hawks are 1.5-point favorites in Game 4, and the total is 186. Atlanta is down 2-1 in the series, and is 1-2 ATS. The over is 2-1 in the series.

Petro was in Miami to be with his wife who was delivering a child. 
Petro started Game 3 and had six points and four rebounds in 13 minutes of action. Drew played a bigger starting lineup in Game 3, putting Al Horford at power forward and relegating Kyle Korver to a bench role. Atlanta won 90-69, covering as 2-point favorites.
