Ashton Kutcher used to front a gambling syndicate and used his “dumb actor” persona to win huge sums of money betting on college football, he revealed in a recent interview with Esquire.

"I actually used to be a front for the largest national sports-betting syndicate in America," the famous funny man revealed to Esquire. "We were clearing, like, $750,000 in four weeks of college football. It was pretty fun. Then they (sportsbooks) caught on. The hypothesis had been that the house would just assume that I was a dumb actor with a lot of money who liked football."

Kutcher elaborated on the intricate handicapping process of college football during the interview but said he “basically just placed the bet.”

The Two and a Half Men star didn’t elaborate on where and when he placed bets, but did say he was placing wagers for “half a season.”

Kutcher is an avid sports fan and is a regular at the Staples Center for Los Angeles Lakers games. He also made an appearance at Super Bowl XLIV alongside Demi Moore and was spotted at Iowa football games in 2009 and 2011.
