College doesn’t start for another month and a half but wiseguys have been studying up on the 2013 NCAA football season and have some pretty solid opinions when it comes to which programs will excel and fail this fall.

We look at three college football teams getting love from sharp bettors online and in Las Vegas.

Sharps like...

Ohio State Buckeyes

Win total:
11 (Over +175)
Conference odds: +125
BCS odds: +800

The Buckeyes find themselves in a funny spot with bettors. According to Bet365.com, Ohio State has been one of the popular BCS bets this summer but sharps are bracing for some nasty pointspreads when OSU takes the field. The Golden Nugget has the Buckeyes as +20-point favorites in five of their 10 available games.

Expert opinion: Will Rogers, Covers Expert - “Now cleared of NCAA sanctions, many have the Buckeyes finishing the regular season unbeaten one more time and potentially playing Alabama for a national championship. They will be favored in every game.”

Stanford Cardinal

Win total:
9.5 (Over +105)
Conference odds: +500
BCS odds: +1,500

The Cardinal not only have a surplus of returning talent in Palo Alto but have been one of the best ATS teams in college football in recent seasons. Stanford’s prices are discounted a bit because the Pac-12 goes through Oregon, but many sharps believe it is the brainiacs year to top the conference.

Expert opinion: Aron Black, Bet365.com - “A solid team that probably should have been opened lower, and we have to stand the bigger prices laid. They will need to go with one maybe two losses to be BCS contenders, but with a steady 11 wins for past three years, they are definitely contenders at this time.”

Georgia Bulldogs

Win total: 9.5 (Over -135)
Conference odds: +300
BCS odds: +2,000

The Bulldogs get added value coming out of the SEC. Georgia has Aaron Murray under center with five starters protecting him on the offensive line. UGA will need it. The Bulldogs have dates with LSU, Florida, and an SEC-opener versus South Carolina and the very “scary” Jadeveon Clowney.

Expert opinion: Teddy Covers, Covers Expert – “Georgia’s near upset of Alabama in the SEC Championship Game and second-half domination in their bowl against Nebraska has Bulldog boosters sky high heading into to the new campaign. With Heisman contending senior QB Aaron Murray playing behind an offensive line with all five starters returning, that optimism appears justified.”
