Friday's NBA playoff notes: Griffin game-time decision

Here's some notes heading into Friday's NBA playoffs games to help with your handicapping:

Griffin is a game-time decision for Clippers

Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin is a game-time decision for the pivotal Game 6 with a sprained right ankle against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Memphis is a 6-point favorite at home and the total is 180. The Grizzlies are leading the series 3-2, are 4-1 ATS (against the spread) in the series and the over is 4-1.

Griffin said his ankle has been "fluctuating" between painful and improving, according to Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times.

"If I'm able to go and I'm able to help us, it's really my job to play," Griffin said to the media. "I owe it to my teammates. If i make the injury worse, there's no more season left anyway, so I'll have a lot of time to rest and a lot of time to do it."

Clippers guard Chris Paul has a bruised left thumb but said, "I'll be ready," for Friday's game.

Griffin played only 19 minutes before leaving Game 5 with the injury. He is averaging 14 points and six rebounds in the series, below his season average of 18 points and 8.3 rebounds.

Novak is out for Game 6

New York Knicks guard Steve Novak is out for Game 6 against the Boston Celtics, according to Howard Beck of The New York Times.

The Knicks are 2-point road favorites for Game 6, the total is 181.5. New York is 2-3 ATS in the series and the under is 4-1.

Novak played only three minutes in Game 5 and left with back spasms.

Novak is averaging over nine minutes a game off the bench in the series and is shooting 50 percent from 3-point range in the first four games.

Knicks center Tyson Chandler had treatment for his neck and says he feels great and should be good to go in Game 6, Newsday reports.

Delfino out for Rockets

Houston Rockets guard Carlos Delfino will miss the rest of the playoffs with a fractured bone in his right foot, according to Jason Friedman of

The Rockets are 1.5-point favorites against the Thunder in Game 6. The total is 206. The Rockets have won two straight to trail the series 3-2. The under is 4-1 in the series and the Rockets are 3-2 ATS.

Delfino played only 10 minutes in Game 5 against Oklahoma City. He was averaging 11.2 points in the previous four games in the series.
