AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Cleveland Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao was ejected after taking down Rasheed Wallace of the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night.

Varejao hit Wallace's shoulder on a driving layup, then appeared to push him down. Varejao was called for a flagrant foul 2 and was ejected midway through the second quarter.

After the two players tumbled to the court, Wallace shouted at Varejao, but that was as heated as it got before Varejao walked off the court and into the locker room.

Cleveland defeated New York on Thursday as 5 1/2-point favorites but failed to cover the spread. The final score of 91-87 played under the total set at 186 1/2.
