Report: Seahawks expect Lynch to skip minicamp

The Seattle Seahawks expect running back Marshawn Lynch to skip next week's mandatory minicamp, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Lynch has two years remaining on his current four-year deal, and is reportedly unhappy with his contract, which is due to pay him $5 million this year and $5.5 million next year.

The four-time Pro Bowl running back has sat out the team's entire offseason program and did not join his teammates in visiting the White House.

Entering his eighth season, Lynch rushed for 1,257 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. "Beast Mode" managed 4.2 yards per carry behind a mediocre offensive line, down from 5.0 yards per carry in 2012.

Lynch, 28, is the unquestioned workhorse of the Seahawks' backfield, although offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell indicated during a Town Hall recently that he plans to utilizes more of a committee approach this season.

Third-year back Robert Turbin averaged just 3.4 yards per carry last season, but has been a valuable reserve with good hands out of the backfield. But the team is particularly high on 2013 second-round pick Christine Michael, who logged just 18 carries as a rookie but has shown explosiveness during practices and Bevell wants to get him more involved in the offense this season.
