Falcons strike deal with RB Freeman
The Atlanta Falcons agreed to contract terms with running back Devonta Freeman on Thursday.
The team did not disclose the length or financial details of the deal.
The 5-foot-8, 206-pound Freeman was selected in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. The No. 103 overall pick rushed for 1,016 yards on 173 carries as a junior at Florida State last year, becoming the school's first back to top 1,000 yards in a season since Warrick Dunn in 1996.
Freeman also led the Seminoles in rushing as a freshman and had 30 career rushing touchdowns, which is tied for third in school history. His 2,255 yards on the ground are tied for eighth on the school's career rushing list with Falcons running back Antone Smith.
Going into the draft earlier this month, Freeman was ranked as the No. 115 overall prospect and the No. 7 running back by NFLDraftScout.com.
