Two minor leaguers suspended

Detroit Tigers minor league catcher Ronny Paulino was suspended for 100 games and Seattle Mariners minor league outfielder Cavan Cohoes received a 50-game suspension on Wednesday from Major League Baseball for violation of the drug prevention and treatment program.

For Paulino, it is the second violation. He was suspended for 50 games in 2010-2011. Currently on the Triple-A roster of the Toledo Mud Hens, Paulino will sit out once the season begins. He tested positive for exogenous testosterone.

Paulino has major league experience with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Miami Marlins, New York Mets and Baltimore Orioles.

Cohoes tested positive for metabolites of Stanozolol and a substance related to the anabolic androgenic steroid Stenbolone (Methylstenbolone). He is on the Mariners' rookie-level roster in the Arizona League and will serve his penalty once the season gets under way.
