East Carolina DE Stanley listed as critical after crash

East Carolina defensive end Terrell Stanley was hospitalized in critical condition after a car accident on Wednesday morning, the school announced in a news release.

Stanley was driving and offensive lineman Isaac Harris was his passenger when the single-car accident occurred around 6 a.m. ET. The players were taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, N.C. Harris was released after a precautionary examination.

According to the university, the players were on their way to campus for a strength and conditioning workout from off-campus housing when the crash took place. Police said the car traveled down an embankment.

Stanley had seven sacks, which ranked second on the team last season, and 10 tackles for loss while starting 12 games for the Pirates. Harris also started 12 games.

Both will be juniors in the fall.
