Nevada RB Solomon dismissed from team
Nevada running back Chris Solomon was dismissed from the team after a domestic battery-related arrest, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal.
Solomon was arrested Jan. 19 and charged with first-degree battery in connection with a domestic incident.
"There was evidence that indicated Mr. Solomon had battered his girlfriend, as she had sustained injuries to her person," the Reno Police Department said in a statement. "REMSA personnel were requested to respond and evaluate Mr. Solomon's girlfriend, which they did. Based on the injuries and the evidence on scene, Mr. Solomon was arrested for domestic battery (first offense)."
Solomon was initially suspended indefinitely. Nevada coach Brian Polian later confirmed to the Gazette-Journal that Solomon was dismissed from the team because of the charge.
Solomon, a redshirt freshman, was third among Wolf Pack running backs with 282 rushing yards last year.
