Sunday night action report: Sharps backing Bears

Two NFC teams with dreams of division titles face off in this week's Sunday nighter when the Chicago Bears head to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles. So there will be plenty to play for no matter the outcome of the afternoon's games as both of these high-powered offenses take the field looking to take that first step towards the playoffs.

Covers talked to Michael Stewart from Carbonsports.ag about all the action coming in for Sunday night's matchup.

Chicago Bears at Philadelphia Eagles - Open: -3.5, Move: -3

For the Bears it doesn't seem to matter who they have under center, whether it is Jay Cutler or Josh McCown, Marc Trestman's offense is a well oiled machine. Chip Kelly's offense is also nothing to laugh at, especially since Nick Foles has taken the reigns. So in this close matchup, Carbonsports.ag gave the opening line edge to the Eagles at -3.5, but the sharps were all over that number, Stewart told Covers.

"That number didn’t last long," Stewart said. "Sharp action took the points early last Sunday afternoon, forcing us to go to Bears to 3 flat early Monday morning. That’s as low as we got on the Bears and at -3 even, we started booking lots of action on the Eagles."

With the early action on the Bears, Stewart thinks the public will eventually start to side with the Eagles.

"So far as of Sunday morning, 65 percent of the action is on the Bears. I believe as we get closer to game time we’ll start to see more public action on the home favorite."

Since both teams posses potent offense's and a sub par pass-defense's the total opened at a high 56, Stewart said.

"We’ve seen great, two-way action on this total. We’ve had to juggle between 56 and 55, but as long as it doesn’t land on either of those two
numbers we’re going to do fine with this total."
