NFL Prop Shop: Week 16's best player prop bets

We're in the final stretch of the NFL schedule, which makes handicapping spreads and totals very difficult. Why not give yourself a break and bet player props in Week 16? Covers Expert Sean Murphy opens the doors of the NFL Prop Shop and gives you his favorite player prop picks for this Sunday's action:

Most passing yards

Mike Glennon (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) vs. Kellen Clemens (St. Louis Rams)

To say Bucs rookie QB Mike Glennon has cooled off would be an understatement. Glennon has thrown for just 180, 90, and 179 yards over his last three games after throwing for over 230 yards in five of his previous seven contests. I expect him to be under pressure all day against an underrated Rams front line.

Rams QB Kellen Clemens threw for only 158 yards in last week's win over the Saints, but did complete 70 percent of his passes. He's been better than most anticipated running the offense and draws a favorable matchup, with the Bucs allowing 7.2 yards per pass play on the road.

Take: Clemens

Ryan Fitzpatrick (Tennessee Titans) vs. Chad Henne (Jacksonville Jaguars)

Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for over 400 yards in last week's overtime loss to the Cardinals, but needed 58 pass attempts to get there. He had thrown for only 201 and 172 yards over his previous two contests, however.

The Jags have represented various shades of awful this season, but they're not holding anything back down the stretch, having scored 79 points over their last three games. Chad Henne should air it out early and often once again and improve on the 237 passing yards he stacked up last Sunday.

Take: Henne

Most rushing yards

Andre Brown (New York Giants) vs. Reggie Bush (Detroit Lions)

I can't help but think the Giants have run out of gas at this point. They were listless against the Seahawks last Sunday. Andre Brown picked up only 17 yards on 11 carries. He'll be facing an angry and highly-motivated Lions defense this week - not a good combination.

Reggie Bush sat out the Lions snow-marred loss in Philadelphia two weeks ago, but returned to pick up 86 yards on 17 carries against Baltimore Monday. He should have a field day against a weary and undermanned Giants defense. Bush has ran for at least 83 yards in four straight home games.

Take: Bush

Most pass receptions

Michael Floyd (Arizona Cardinals) vs. Golden Tate (Seattle Seahawks)

The Cardinals defense has held up well this season, but checks into this one missing a number of key cogs, including Tyrann Mathieu in the secondary. That should open the door for a big game from the Seahawks aerial attack, with WR Golden Tate reaping the benefits. Tate made only two catches last Sunday but was targeted six times. He had made 10 catches over his last two games heading in.

Teams have been keying on Cardinals WR Michael Floyd lately and as a result he's been held to only four catches over the last two contests. He won't find much room to operate against an elite Seahawks pass defense.

Take: Tate
