FSU's Winston -10,000 favorite to win Heisman Trophy
College football’s top individual honor will be handed out in New York Saturday night and, according to oddsmakers, the four Heisman Trophy finalists - other than Florida State QB Jameis Winston - should at least be happy they got a free trip to the Big Apple.
Winston, who led FSU to the BCS Championship, is a -10,000 favorite to win the Heisman honor Saturday, and could be the second straight freshman to claim the award. Winston passed for 3,820 yards and 38 touchdowns en route to a perfect 13-0 record for the Seminoles.
Auburn RB Tre Mason, who Winston will face in the national title game, is next on the list at +2,800 while reigning Heisman king, Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel, sits at +12,500 – the biggest underdog. Boston College RB and the nation’s leading rusher Andre Williams is priced at +5,000, and Alabama QB A.J. McCarron and Northern Illinois QB Jordan Lynch are both priced at +8,000.
