This is a 1* Free Play on the Texas Rangers.
The Rangers are worth the short price here as they have their best pitcher on the mound. Texas has Yu Darvish (9-5, 2.88 ERA) on the hill who is coming off one of his best starts of the season, the Japanese born pitcher struck out 12 batters while allowing just one run in 6 2/3’s innings in a win over the Blue Jays. Note that the right-hander is a strong 2-0 with a 1.35 ERA in three starts lifetime versus the pinstripes. The Yankees will respond with David Phelps (4-4, 3.87 ERA); the right-hander went 6 1/3 innings in Friday's 4-3 win over Cincinnati, giving up three runs --two earned - with seven strikeouts for his first victory since June 19th. New York, which has put up the second-fewest runs in the AL (393), was held scoreless for 17 innings by a Rangers team with the highest ERA in the AL before tying it in the 13th after Texas had gone ahead last night. Keep in mind the Yankees are 1-9 as a home underdog of +100- 125 this season. With Darvish on the hill the Rangers feel they can beat anyone and should the way he has pitched of late. Look for the visitors to get some revenge from last night’s extra inning thriller.
