Billy Walters company makes big donation to super PAC

The man who has been called the world's largest professional sports bettor, Billy Walters, has made a sizable donation to a super PAC aimed at supporting Republicans in the House of Representatives, according to a report by the Center for Public Integrity.

The CPI says Walters made a $100,000 donation through Nevada-based T STAR III LLC, managed William T. “Billy” Walters and Michael E. Luce. Walters also owns The Walters Group, a real estate company that specializes in golf course development.

According to the report, this was the second largest donation to this super PAC this year. The largest of $125,000 came from John W. Childs, the founder of a Boston-based private equity firm.

A 60 Minutes report from 2011 said Walters won $3.5 million on on the 2010 Super Bowl.

It's not so much an issue for One Nevada Realty Trust and his other commercial concerns, so much as it is for Billy's Buddies, Chuck Ruthe and Tom Hartley, both Sierra Health and Life (licensed insurance company in NV) BOD members - they're looking at significantly less profits with Obama-Care in place.

I'd hazard a guess that this has nothing to do with his gambling activities and everything to do with greasing the skids for his business interests. He must have done lunch with Sheldon.
