Manziel investigation forces Texas A&M odds off the board

Oddsmakers at the LVH Superbook have pulled odds for Texas A&M’s "Games of the Year" off the board and bumped the Aggies from +1,200 to +1,500 to win the BCS Championship after reports of an NCAA investigation into Heisman winner, QB Johnny Manziel.

“Slight tweaks (to the Aggies' futures odds) and (Texas A&M's) regular season wins prop and 'Games of Year' off the board for now,” Jeff Sherman, assistant manager at the LVH Superbook in Las Vegas told Covers.

Texas A&M had a season win total of 9.5 (Under -120) before ESPN’s Outside The Lines reported that Manziel may have taken money for an autograph signing during the BCS Championship weekend this past January. If the NCAA reveals that the Aggies sophomore star did violate Bylaw 12.5.2.1, he could be ruled ineligible.

The Aggies, who have moved from +600 to +800 to win the SEC, were 6.5-point underdogs vs. Alabama in Week 3, 14-point favorites at Arkansas in Week 5, 5.5-point favorites at Ole Miss in Week 7, 2.5-point underdogs at LSU in Week 13, and 8.5-point favorites at Missouri in Week 14. Those game lines are currently unavailable until more is known about Manziel’s status for this coming season.

Las Vegas veteran and spokesman for William Hill Sportsbooks in Nevada, Jimmy Vaccaro, said on his Twitter account that Manziel is worth about six points to the Aggies spreads.

Manziel has been in the media spotlight all summer. He was under fire for comments made about leaving College Station on Twitter and was rumored to be dismissed from the Manning Passing Academy camp for showing up late to meetings because he was hungover. Recently, he was seen being tossed from a frat party at Texas.

Manziel, who was the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy, is currently a +510 favorite to win his second straight Heisman at SportsInteraction.com. Oddsmakers at online book CarbonSports.ag moved Manziel's Heisman odds from +450 to +600 this past week.

Johnny is a great athlete but unfortunately he is a punk. He can't handle his success on the field when he is off the field. Personally I hope he can skate this issue and be eligible. Most SEC defenses will be ready for him this year and I can't wait to give the Aggies 6 points and watch Bama break him in to little pieces. If he doesn't play the line will double..
