Clint Dempsey to join Seattle Sounders of the MLS

According to reports from ESPN.com, United States international Clint Dempsey is set to move from Tottenham Hotspur of the Premier League to the Seattle Sounders of Major League Soccer.

Per ESPN:

The native of Nacogdoches, Texas tallied seven Premier League goals with Tottenham in the 2012-13 campaign.

A move to Seattle will be a return to the MLS for Dempsey. He played for New England from 2004 to 2006 before his entry into the Premier League with Fulham.

Dempsey is the second all-time scorer in the history of the United States national side with 35 goals in 99 appearances.

This is a big move for Seattle who currently sit seventh in the Western Conference. Dempsey should slot right into the starting XI and bring immediate results to the Sounders.

The Sounders' outright MLS Cup odds are currently +1200 at WilliamHill.com.
