Tiger Woods British Open favorite despite U.S. Open flop

Tiger Woods is a +700 favorite to win the 2013 British Open despite shooting his worst four-round score at a U.S. Open this past weekend.

Woods, who finished 13-over par after a 74 in the final round Sunday, sits ahead of Rory McIlroy (+1,200), Adam Scott (+2,000) and U.S. Open champion Justin Rose (+2,000) on the list of favorites. Lee Westwood, Phil Mickelson and Luke Donald are all priced at +2,500.

Tiger's attempt at a 15th major title will next month at Muirfield, the site of his worst round as a professional. Woods shot a third-round 81 back in 2002 at Muirfield on a day where wind and rain was the story at the Open.

Here's a look at the latest British Open odds courtesy of the LVH Superbook in Las Vegas.

well said. worn out with this azz wipe. why would anyone bet the favorite in golf anyway. with the improvement in golf clubs and balls of today a young jack, hogan, player, snead and b. jones would be favoite over this azz wipe.
