NCAAF Games of the Year: Irish have tough sked ahead of USC

Odds are out for the biggest games of the college football season. Covers Expert Jesse Schule gives you his insight into some of the marquee matchups and predicts where the odds could move before kickoff.

October 19, 2013: USC Trojans at Notre Dame Fighting Irish (-5)

Past history: USC is 3-2 SU, 2-3 ATS since 2008.

Early look at the Trojans: USC started last season ranked No. 1, yet they finished the season outside the Top 25. After finishing with a 7-6 record last season, they lose Matt Barkley and Robert Woods. The good news for the Trojans is that they have a fairly light schedule heading into this matchup with Notre Dame.

Early look at the Irish: The Irish ran the table in 2012, but along the way they were fortunate to win some close games that easily could have gone the other way. They lost Manti Te'o to the NFL draft and it looks like they will also lose Everett Golson because of academic issues.

Where this line will move: The Irish have a tough schedule, hosting Oklahoma, Michigan State and facing Michigan on the road prior to this meeting with the Trojans. If they struggle against these tough opponents, we could see this line come down a point or two.
