Betting Dude: No respect with Tebow props

The Betting Dude: If it's sports, betting, or pop culture he's got an opinion on it. Read his rants and adventures here on Covers.

Tim Tebow was riding high after he threw an 80-yard touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas to beat the Steelers in a wild card playoff game two seasons ago.

The Broncos were happy. John Elway was running down the sidelines fist pumping. Tebow was "Tebowing". All was right in Mile High for the first time since back-to-back Super Bowls.

But in order to be truly ambitious you have to possess the discipline to trade a brunette for a blonde with the empathy of sociopath.

So Tebow got dumped, then spent a year in an abusive relationship with Rex Ryan in Siberia only to be dumped again.

From hero to bench warmer, to punchline, and ultimately to vagabond. His home town team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, even refused to offer him shelter.

He became a man without a country when the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League turned their noses up at him.

But today, Tebow showed what a little faith can do for a man. He's been resurrected, signing with one of the best franchises in the league, the New England Patriots.

A perfect fit in my opinion.

Bill Belichick's playbook is littered with screens. Tebow can't mess up a 10-yard lateral pass to the likes of Julian Edleman or newly acquired Danny Amendola. Not to mention, he can save Tom Brady on his manicure bills on those third-and-shorts or goal line plays.

Early prop bets in Las Vegas have the over/under on Tebow's touchdown total at 2.5 for the season. This paltry line is a bigger insult to Tebow than Gronkowski threatening to take his virginity during a public speaking event at the University of Rhode Island.

I predict Tebow has a great year and scores at least five rushing and five passing TDs this season. Amen!

The guys @sportsbook_com have set the over/under on the total number of Tebow TDs in 2013 at 2.5.

How many times are they going to be inside the 5 yard line for Tebow to make his run? With Tom gunslinging the ball everywhere I can imagine him wanting a touchdown instead of trying to worry about setting Tebow up for his TD. Do you really put that much thought into setting Tebow up for a TD when you can do it the old New England way? Players know what he can do and will have a DEF play for it in case it comes up. think about it... Tebow > Brady in any situation?.....say that again to yourself...

He will shine this year. He sat for the Jets b/c of all his religious stuff. The NFL puppet masters at work no doubt. I'll take Over 2.5 TD.

He'll make the team and at the end of a long career, he will be remembered most for his versatility.

I'd say this is yet another shot at the Queen of Foot Fetishes and not kissing Bill's rings. This guy is an athlete, and maybe he fits into the Patriots system, maybe he doesn't. Looks like a low risk move by the Pats. If he sticks, I say I'm with The Dude, he can score 5 touchdowns on the ground, passing maybe not so much. Think of the short and goal options: Tebow, Ridley and Bolden at RB, and two tight ends when Gronk get's healthy. WOW!!!!! Like the man says, we can lave Tom out of this type of equation. Out!

Not hating betting dude - just looking at it from a prop position...he's gotta make the team before he can score any TD's and I have my doubts. GL with that over.

So does that mean that he will score a total of ten touchdowns in your opinion? If so you are outta your mind...there's a reason nobody else wants him. This is a charity signing by Belichick and McDaniels. My money says he's released before week one kicks off.

that could def be possible because they will use him right on the goal line where he is most dangerous. i say 5 rush td's and 3 pass
