Picking the winner of the Belmont, will not be easy. You can make a case for a number of horses. Orb, really got a bad trip in the Preakness. The Belmont is probably still his to win or lose. I'd like Oxbow at a price, based on his last 2 perfomances, but that's not going to happen. Mylute has to be considered as well. I think Palace Malace is also ready to fire. The horses that skipped the Preakness should be fresh. Baffert is always tough, but other than Silver Charm, western horses can't seem to go east, including the great Freehouse. I think I'll box those 4. Not sure where to put the $$$ yet. Anyone have any inside info???

I won't bet Oxbow @ 3 to 1, but if he slides up to 5 or 6, I'll run to the window. This horse is just coming into his own. He should be going for the Triple. Not sure obviously, if he can get the distance yet, but he's the Best Of The Bunch. Don't Overlook Oxbow. & Gary Stevens is A+++++++.

D. Wayne Lucas took a herd with him after the Derby. I say to myself this action looks like a man possessed. Clearly he felt that Oxbow should have won the Derby. So I knew the pace wouldn't be the same in the Preakness, as these are smart horses and run when asked to run. I know Lucas got his money back, by backing his horses. Now the Belmont, I knew I wouldn't see Golden Soul or Revolutionary in the Preakness, as these 2 appear to need more distance, so beware of these 2 in the Belmont.

Watch the Derby. 45 at the 1/2. Look where Stevens had Oxbow around the final turn. I can't understand a Great Jockey like Stevens misjudging the pace, but he looked to me like he was on the best horse in the derby. This isn't my 1st rodeo. What doesn't make sense?? It's not easy to pick a good Horse with the Derby & Preakness Times. You have to pick the Best Of The Bunch. Oxbow at Pimlico was that. The track is best for front runners, or horses that are on the pace. It's not as a rule for closers. The Belmont is another Crap Shoot, but don't count Oxbow out. I don't bet the Favorite, so I'll be looking for a Price.

I had a Cool $50 on the Nose of Oxbow, so I was Thrilled to watch the race. The announcer was wrong on Oxbow being the 1st horse to go wire to wire in the Preakness since 1982. Louis Quitourze did it in 1996. I also had him that day, for a Nice payday. The downside of the race is the time. Louie ran it 20 lengths faster. This was the slowest Preakness since 1960. It shows the role that stereoids played. Oxbow ran a Great Derby with a Blistering pace, & was still there at the end. Gary Stevens figured on winning it. Everyone should have been on Oxbow in the Preakness. Gary had him in perfect position to win the derby, but the pace killed him. He should have had a chance at the Triple Crown.
