Allergies to blame for Rays LHP Price's struggles?

Tampa Bay Rays stud pitcher David Price is off to an uncharacteristic slow start and the problem could be in the laundry.

Price believes a new injector system used to wash the Rays’ laundry is contributing to a series of severe allergy outbreaks he’s been experiencing since January. The reigning Cy Young Award winner has been suffering from sudden rashes and bouts of blurred vision, prompting him to take an allergy test Tuesday.

Price thinks the different chemicals found in his clothing and towels introduced because of the new laundry system irritated his skin and eyes, to the point where he had to step off the rubber at times because he couldn’t see the catcher’s signs.

The team plans to do Price’s laundry separate from the rest of the club’s moving forward.

Price left early with a strained left triceps in the Tampa Bay Rays' 9-2 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday night and the team has placed him on the 15-day disabled list.

Price is just 1-4 with a 5.24 ERA in nine starts to date. The over is 7-1-1 in his outings.

The Rays have been a profitable over play (23-11-5 O/U) heading into action Thursday.

I've got the same allergy problem, the symptoms disappear in two days if using correctly-laundered clothes. For those of us who have this allergy, it's a real obvious issue, and you have to be really stupid to allow this to go on for months. Either Price is a moron, or their medical staff is incompetent. Where there's smoke, there's fire!
