Where the action is: Monday's NBA line moves
The Chicago Bulls and Oklahoma City Thunder can punch their spots in the NBA's elite eight on Monday. We talked to an oddsmaker about the line moves for all three playoff games on Monday:Chicago Bulls vs. Brooklyn Nets
The Nets have their backs to the wall at home after losing Game 4 in triple-overtime. But Brooklyn opened as 5-point favorites, and Michael Stewart, oddsmaker for CarbonSports.ag
saw money on the Nets and moved it.
"Since going to -5.5 we've booked equal action on both sides and I very much doubt we'll have to move off 5.5," Stewart told Covers
Indiana Pacers vs. Atlanta Hawks
The Pacers-Hawks Game 4 was the perfect scenario for oddsmakers, setting a line and seeing equal betting on both teams.
"We opened the Hawks a small 1.5-point favorite and we've seen great, two-way action at that number," says Stewart.
"It's a dream game for any bookmaker as we will see two-way action all day and won't have to move off our opening number."Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Houston Rockets
Despite opening as 1.5-point road favorites, the market is still expecting the Thunder to cover and complete the sweep against Houston.
"With just over 65 percent of the early money on the Thunder, I believe we'll eventually be going to Thunder -2," notes Stewart.
Stewart also tells us that a sharp bet on the total of 206.5 forced them to drop the number to 206.
"But since going to 206 we've seen nothing but over money and I believe we'll be going back to 206.5 at some point today."
