Celtics' offensive woes resulting in falling totals

The first three games of the first-round playoff series between the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics have all gone under the total.

In fact, the under is 6-0 in the last six clashes between the two Atlantic Division rivals. The last game to play over was their Jan. 7 tilt which the Celtics won 102-96.

The Celtics have put up some horrific shooting numbers in the series. Boston is averaging 75 points per game in the playoffs - the worst mark among playoff teams - and has attempted the least amount of field goals with 68.3. The Celtics are also committing the third-most turnovers in the playoffs to date, averaging 17 per game.

Oddsmakers have adjusted totals accordingly with each game. The total in the series opener was 189.5, 185.5 in Game 2 and 183 in Game 3. Sunday's Game 4 total currently sits at 181.5.

Adding to Boston's postseason woes is the fact it can't stop Carmelo Anthony. The Knicks forward leads the playoffs in scoring with 32 points per game on 56.2 percent shooting from the floor.

The Knicks are 2-point road favorites Sunday.

A great opportunity to play the over with neither team in much of a mood to play defense.
