Around the rink: Friday's NHL betting notes

Check out our quick-hitting betting notes on Friday’s NHL action:

Pittsburgh Penguins at Boston Bruins (-130, 5.5)

Cancelled due to current manhunt in Boston.

New York Rangers at Buffalo Sabres (+110, 5)

Probable starting goaltenders: Henrik Lundqvist (NYR), Ryan Miller (BUF)

The Sabres have won three in a row to remain within four points of the Rangers, who occupy eighth place in the Eastern Conference. Henrik Lundqvist has started every game in April for the Rangers, going 6-2-1. All three blemishes happened on the road, where New York is 8-11-2. New York has a game in hand on Buffalo, and a victory for the Rangers on Friday would eliminate the Sabres from playoff contention. New York is 1-5 in its last six vs. Northeast foes.

Dallas Stars at St. Louis Blues (-170, 5)

Probable starting goaltenders: Kari Lehtonen (DAL), Brian Elliott (STL)

Five points separate the sixth-place St. Louis Blues from the Dallas Stars, who are tied with Detroit for ninth in the Western Conference. The Stars visit St. Louis on Friday for the last of three games between the teams with the season series split at one win apiece. The Blues won 4-3 on Jan. 26, but Dallas earned a 4-1 victory on March 3. The Stars have won six of their last seven games.

Nashville Predators at Chicago Blackhawks (-259, 5)

Probable starting goaltenders: Pekka Rinne (NSH), Corey Crawford (CHI)

Chicago, which has won six straight contests, has a four-point lead over the Pittsburgh Penguins in the race for the league's regular-season crown with a game in hand. The Blackhawks hope to complete a sweep of the season series with their division rivals as they won each of the first four meetings, including two via shutout. The Predators are 0-6 in their last six vs. Central opponents.

Edmonton Oilers at Colorado Avalanche (-118, 5)

Probable starting goaltenders: Devan Dubnyk (EDM), Semyon Varlamov (COL)

Colorado has shown some fight, gaining points in four straight games (2-0-2) – all against teams that were in the top eight of the West through Wednesday. Edmonton has been outscored 22-7 during its current six-game slide but has beaten the Avalanche in three of their four meetings this season. The under is 6-1-1 in the last eight meetings.

Anaheim Ducks at Calgary Flames (+143, 5.5)

Probable starting goaltenders: Jonas Hiller (ANA), Miikka Kiprusoff (CGY)

Anaheim, which already has clinched a playoff berth, sits atop the Pacific with 60 points - five more than both the Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks. Calgary is seeking its fourth win in five games as it closes out the home portion of its schedule. The Flames have scored three or more goals in each of their last four games. The over is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Calgary.
