The most popular picks from bettors at the Masters this week

Here's a shocker: most of the betting public is backing Tiger Woods to win the Masters this week.

So don't blame sportsbooks for hoping Tiger goes an eighth straight year without a Masters and a fifth straight year without a major.

Depending on where you look, odds vary from about +300 to +450.

"We laid the 6’s and all rates down to 4’s last week so Tiger is our biggest loser in the book," Uwin's Russ Candler told Covers.

Uwin is currently carrying Woods at +350, a hefty step away from the No. 2 player in the world, Rory McIlroy, who sits at 10-1.

Candler says Brandt Snedeker is another player the public backed early and often this season as he racked up a win and nearly $3 million in prize money. He moved from being in the 80-1 range down to the 66-1 range, finally settling at 33-1 where he sat Tuesday.

Snedeker missed five weeks with a strained muscle in his rib cage though and he failed to make the cut in his last two events - at Bay Hill and the Shell Houston Open. Snedeker said on Tuesday that he's at about 90 percent coming into this week.

A guy who smokes his way around the course and doesn't speak any English and a silky swinging fan favorite who is spotted most often on the Champions Tour round out the liability list for many sportsbooks this week .

"(Angel) Cabrera has been backed from the 200's into 80’s and there have been plenty of $20 and $50 bets on Fred Couples at 150’s to make him a rotten result for us."
