Hawkeyes go into NIT final as the best bet in the nation

It's fitting that the No.1 ATS (Against The Spread) team in college basketball will play in a championship game on Thursday.

The Iowa Hawkeyes have been a sports bettor's dream this season going 24-9 ATS, including a current 10-0 ATS run. The game opened as a pick 'em, but the money has come in on the Hawkeyes and the line jumped to 2.5. The total is 142.5, moving from 141.

Iowa has primarily used stifling defense to build up bankrolls. They held opponents in the NIT to 40.9 percent shooting from the field and 34.7 percent shooting from behind the arc. The Hawkeyes are 15th in the country in opponent field goal percentage and ninth in opponent three point percentage on the season.

One Hawkeye has made huge offensive gains in his game also - junior combo guard Devyn Marble has averaged 24.3 points during the NIT, up from his season average of 15.2.

I know common opponents are overrated, but the schools have two common opponents this year. Baylor lost to Northwestern and dropped both games against Iowa State. The Hawkeyes beat Northwestern three times this year and topped Iowa State in the teams’ annual rivalry game.

glad to see the public is fading Iowa once again, one last time. Hawks should get the W, but might be contingent on their starting PG's ankle.

10-0 ats is very impressive for Iowa, but that streak will end on Thursday against Baylor!
