Lakers’ Bryant, Nash ailing ahead of Saturday clash with Kings

The Los Angeles Lakers are once again battling injuries ahead of a key clash with the Sacramento Kings on Saturday.

Kobe Bryant is dealing with a bone spur in his left foot and left Thursday’s 113-103 loss at Milwaukee on crutches. He is listed as questionable. L.A. went 2-1 straight up with Bryant sidelined almost three full games because of a sprained ankle earlier this month.

Point guard Steve Nash is expected to suit up despite nursing back and hamstring injuries which caused him to sit out the fourth quarter Thursday.

The Lakers have dropped four of five overall (0-5 ATS) following an 11-3 stretch that got them back into the Western Conference playoff picture. With Utah and Dallas hot on its heels, Los Angeles will have to find a way to win at Sacramento where it has lost three straight, including a 113-97 defeat on Nov. 21.

The Kings are scoring 110.3 points per game – 10.3 above their season average – over their last 16 contests. That’s bad news for the Lakers, who have yielded an average of 113 points on their current four-game road swing which ends Saturday.

Oddsmakers are suggesting a spread of Lakers -3.5 and a total of 215 for Saturday’s clash. The home team is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings and the over is 7-0 in the Lakers’ last seven games following a loss.

bryant will play like always...guy's lucky with injuries they are never severe enough to keep him out long...still lakers -3.5 seems a bit high with injuries and lack of depth on their bench...lakers could win because sacramento is young, inexperienced, and can invent ways to lose games...just seems to be closer to a pick em or lakers -1 or so...
