NBA All-Star Saturday odds and action report

Saturday is perhaps the most anticipated day of NBA All-Star weekend because of the various skills competitions.

We chat with Aron Black of Bet365 about the action on tonight’s events:

According to Black, Team Harden and Team Westbrook are the only teams seeing any real action.

mr silky j , you could have been jumping through the air from the foul line throwing it down ... instead white is the favoRITE ..in a way it is very classy and in good taste not to dominate every cat of a given sport . ThaT would be just soooo not fair .. lol

that talk was from watching them talk about it on espn .. is lebron scared ? and nobody wants to admit someone could be scared of an event ? lebron ? does any one player have to be able to dominate every single cat ? should you not be begging him to be in the 3pt contest tooooooooooooooooo ? lmao .. i was into sir j last year too , but all the hype i am hearing now is kinda sickenning or seems odd .. everyone talking soooo great about j now because of the 60% stat .. and all the bad talk last year no rings.. is all quite silly .. there are many many players .. the role players being just as important .. if all this hoopla is true that i been hearing .. the heat are a shoein to win it all again .. flexes ,checks pulse , sees the clock and calendar light up .. one half of nba in the books , 2013 .. going with the east and looking for sir j to get mvp .. hoping kobe is slightly uninterested ..

the reason lebron never competes in the slam dunk is because he might lose .. if he knew he would win he would probably have done it by now .. so is he scared ? yeah , scared of taking the loss in a comp in the spotlight .. egos ... he might not be the best showman dunker so that is why he has never been in it .. ducking the L .. he would not want to injure himself either .. lol

anyone with any good picks.... in the dunk contest theres 2-3 guys that can never win it... bledsoe, farried, evans so dont waste ne money on that..... anyone with more to add ... sometimes the prev winners have been campaigning b4 the event then won.... any winners?? thanks

Analysis:

1* Pittsburgh (7:05 ET):  Good matchup here for the surging Bucs taking on the struggling Cubs. Having won 8 of 10, at home, and with a hot pitcher on the mound, Pittsburgh should roll here.

The Pirates have won both series so far on the current homestand, including taking two of three over the weekend against Houston, their old NL Central rival. Now they play a current division foe, one that's lost three of five.  Pittsburgh has revenge on its mind here after dropping two of three early in the season here at PNC Park.  Fortunately, they have Wandy Rodriguez on the mound for Tuesday's series opener.  The southpaw has won back to back starts, allowing only two runs over 13 innings. His ERA in four home starts thus far is a sparkling 1.35.

The Cubs come in averaging just 2.7 runs per game vs. lefties, batting .217.  They are not a good road team either, averaging only 2.9 runs while batting .218.  Pittsburgh is 15-9 at home.  Chicago will go with Matt Garza for the 1st time in 2013 Tuesday.  An injury to his right elbow caused him to miss almost the entire second half of 2012.  A lat injury has caused him to miss the first two months of this season.  He will be on a strict pitch count.  He'll also have to deal with Pittsburgh having Andrew McCutchen back in the lineup.  1* Pittsburgh.
