NHL betting: Season win totals released

Now that the NHL lockout is officially over bettors can now begin assessing team win totals for the upcoming season.

Each team will play 48 games entirely against clubs from its own conference and 18 contests against divisional foes.

Here are the season win totals for all 30 NHL teams being offered by Sports Interaction.

Atlantic Division

New York Rangers – over/under 29.5 wins
Pittsburgh Penguins – over/under 29.5 wins
Philadelphia Flyers – over/under 27.5 wins
New Jersey Devils – over/under 22 wins
New York Islanders – over/under 19 wins

Northeast Division

Boston Bruins – over/under 28.5 wins
Buffalo Sabres – over/under 24.5 wins
Ottawa Senators – over/under 23.5 wins
Montreal Canadiens – over/under 22 wins
Toronto Maple Leafs – over/under 22 wins

Southeast Division

Washington Capitals – over/under 24.5 wins
Tampa Bay Lightning – over/under 22 wins
Florida Panthers – over/under 21.5 wins
Winnipeg Jets – over/under 21.5 wins
Carolina Hurricanes – over/under 21.5 wins

Central Division

St. Louis Blues – over/under 27.5 wins
Detroit Red Wings – over/under 27.5 wins
Chicago Blackhawks – over/under 25.5 wins
Nashville Predators – over/under 22 wins
Columbus Blue Jackets – over/under 17 wins

Northwest Division


Vancouver Canucks – over/under 29.5 wins

I like Detroit under 27.5. No more Lindstrom and way too much traveling to the outer reaches of the western time zone due to downsized 48 game schedule for this eastern time zone team. There will be days when the Wings will really have to pause to realize what town there are in.

Los Angeles Kings – over/under 25.5 wins. IF the Kings go into the season with their #1 goalie Jonathan Quick out recovering from his back surgery and top sniper Anze Kopitar out for at least two weeks with a sprained knee, I would say UNDER.
