Texans, Packers underdogs in divisional playoffs

The Houston Texans held off the Cincinnati Bengals for a 19-13 victory Saturday and will head to New England next Sunday to face Tom Brady and the Patriots.

Online sportsbook betonline.com has the Texans listed as early 9.5-point underdogs with the total set at 48. Mike Perry, oddsmaker for Sportsbook.ag, opened the Patriots as 10-point faves with the total at 49 and 73 percent of the early action is on the home team.

The Patriots blew out Houston 42-14 the last time it visited Gillette Stadium in Week 14. The Texans were 5.5-point underdogs in that game and the teams played over the 50.5 total.

BetOnline also has the San Francisco 49ers listed as 3-point faves over the Green Bay Packers, who defeated the Vikings 24-10 Saturday night, with the total listed at 45.

Expected New England and Tom Brady to be 17 point favorites! Expecially with the performance put on by Houston Saturday. Will go "All In" on the Pats, even if the line goes up to -20! Good Luck to All on Playoffs :)

I'm NOT suprised. IF the Texans could only put up 19 in their home building, I doubt they can do more away in the new England cold. New England has proved they can score "like a rabbit on a date" and previously beat the Texans 42-14 week 14 in Foxborough. btw, no matter WHAT happens ib Baltimore tomarrow, the AFC championship game will probably be Patriots @ Broncos with the winner winning the Super Bowl.

Analysis:

I've cashed the Cardinals multiple times earlier in the week as a free play winner and think Saturday happens to be a good time to jump on them again as they host the Milwaukee Brewers. They took Friday's opener, 7-6, which was their 13th win in 16 games.  Milwaukee is going the other way right now, losing 13 of 15.  This series appears to be a big mismatch.  St. Louis is now 7-1 vs. Milwaukee this year.

Here are my keys to the game:

1.  Lance Lynn - I have to start here. He's 6-1 in his eight starts with a 2.88 ERA.  At home, he's 4-0 with a 2.00 ERA. Since his 1st start of the year, he's allowed more than three runs only one time.  Needless to say, I don't think Brewers starter Marco Estrada will be much match for him. Estrada has an 8.22 ERA his last three starts, though he did win his last.

2.  Hitting woes - The bottom four hitters in Milwaukee's lineup showed why they are hitting higher in the order Friday night, going a combined 0 for 15 Friday.  Heading into yesterday, the Brewers were averaging just 3.3 runs per game on the road.

3. X-Factor - The Cardinals seem to have solved their previous bullpen woes somewhat with Edward Mujica having saved all 12 games in 12 opportunities. 

Selection: The play is on the St. Louis Cardinals (1*).
