T-Wolves' Rubio won't return until at least Saturday

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio won’t make his season debut until at least Saturday, according to a Tweet from Star-Tribune reporter Jerry Zgota.

There were some rumblings that Rubio might return to the T-Wolves as early as Wednesday for a home date with Denver, where Minnesota was favored by 3.5 points and the total was set at 200 (as of noon ET). The line moved up from 2.5 points where it opened, perhaps because bettors hoped he might return.

Rubio missed the last part of the lockout-shortened schedule after blowing out his knee. Mike Perry, oddsmaker for Sportsbook.ag, told us recently that Rubio is worth about 2 points to the spread for Minnesota.

"He doesn’t score nearly as much as (Kyrie) Irving, but will be the NBA leader in assists for many years to come,” says Perry.
