The spread for Monday night’s NFC West battle between the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers is parked at a clean touchdown at sportbooks online and Las Vegas, with good two-way money coming in since the spread moved to -7.
“I don’t see it going up,” Jeff Stoneback, sportsbook manager at the MGM Mirage, told Covers. “We’ve taken more money on Arizona since the move to -7.”
Most books opened with the Niners as 6.5-point road favorites in Arizona. That number has climbed as high as 7.5 at some select shops.
The one number on the move is the total, which opened as low as 37 points and has since climbed to 38.5. That total is tied for the lowest on the Week 9 board, with the Jets and Dolphins just topping the 38.5-point number in a 30-9 Miami win Sunday.
“We need the under a little more,” says Stoneback. “Same thing with most of these standalone Monday games, the public will see that low total and bet the over. I could see it going to 39 or even 39.5 before kickoff.”
San Francisco is 6-1 ATS in its last seven meetings with Arizona. The division rivals have combined for a 6-2 over/under mark in their last eight games in Arizona.
