Second half bettors beware: UCF struggles after halftime
When it comes to betting the second half, the Central Florida Golden Knights don’t paint the prettiest picture. The Knights are 0-4 ATS (against the spread) in the second half this season.
Central Florida has been outscored a combined 62-43 in the second half overall this year and is 2-2 ATS, though the Knights covered the number against Ohio State in their second game by a mere half point.
It gets even worse over the past three games. Central Florida has been outscored 48-22 in those second halves – an average of just 7.33 points scored and an average scoring differential of -8.67.
According to this story in the Orlando Sentinel
, UCF head coach George O’Leary doesn’t plan on any major changes to try and alter the trend ahead of Thursday night’s home game against East Carolina.
“All those fiery speeches, they last for one hit,” O’Leary told reporters. “. . . They last for one hit. It comes down to what you’ve got under your third rib, eventually. . . . I lean on the kids, I lean myself to get them ready.”Sports Interaction
sent along their second half lines to Covers
this week for UCF's games. Here’s a look at where those halftime lines were set and how they fared in each game: Aug. 30
- UCF -10 at Akron (won second half 21-14) Sept. 9 -
UCF +7 at Ohio State (lost second half 14-6) Sept. 15
- UCF -7 vs. Florida International (lost second half 20-10)Sept. 29

SportsInteraction says the Knights opened at -14 this week but sharp money has pushed the number down to -11 ahead of Thursday’s game. They also added that they haven’t seen much action on this contest, which competes with two other college games Thursday night and the Arizona-St. Louis NFL game.
