Huge upsets in men's soccer cause big moves in odds

Two huge underdog wins on Sunday caused big ripples in Olympic futures betting for the men's soccer competition in London.

Senegal beat Uruguay 2-0 as a +355 dog and Honduras toppled Spain 1-0 at +455 in what will likely be the biggest shocker of the tournament. The loss for Spain - who was the second favorite to win gold entering the Games at +240 - sent the team packing early from London. The Spanish side failed to gain a point in either of its first two matches so far.

As a result, Brazil has moved from a +175 favorite where it was set before the competition to a huge -188 favorite to win gold. Great Britain is now the second favorite to win gold though their odds haven't changed from +800 pre-tourney.

Senegal and Honduras were set at +5000 and +20000 before the Games began and their odds have now adjusted considerably.

Men's action resumes on Wednesday with a huge game between Team GB and Uruguay, who are fighting to advance from Group A. Britain and Senegal are currently tied atop Group A with four points apiece while Uruguay has three points through two matches.
