Brazil, not Spain, favored to win 2014 World Cup

Spain spanked Italy 4-0 in the final of the 2012 Euro Cup, and is now the two-time defending European Champion as well as the reigning World Cup champion. Despite all that, bookmakers still have Brazil, the host nation, as the favorite to win the 2014 World Cup.

WilliamHill.com
lists Brazil at +275, with Argentina and Spain second at +550. No European team has ever won the World Cup staged outside of Europe and host countries have won the World Cup six times.

Still, Spain is clearly the best team in the world right now.

Here’s a look at the odds to win the 2014 World Cup from the top contenders:

Brazil +275
Argentina +550
Spain +550
Germany +800
Netherlands +1400
Uruguay +1400
Italy +1600
England +2000
Portugal +2000
Chile +2500
France +2500

S.A has been stronger in the last few years while Europe looks weak. Only germany and Spain are "contenders" and both teams has vital flaws. Look for ARgentina, Brazil and Uruguay to go deep.
